As smart as kids are these days, it’s surprising how many of them don’t have a cell phone. So when your kid doesn’t have one, what should you do? Well there are a few things that you should consider before you run out and buy your child a phone. Here they are.
The first thing you should think about is their age. If they’re old enough to read this article, they probably don’t need a cell phone. But even younger kids can get into trouble with the wrong signal or wrong password. You want to avoid situations where you have to explain your child why they shouldn’t be using a cell phone. You also don’t want to spend too much money on a phone that won’t be used very much.
As technology advances, even children are so much exposed to technology and it has a huge good and bad effect on the children.
The second thing you need to think about is whether they really need a phone. You see the phones nowadays have so many features and they can be complicated to use. Many of the older phones had simple dial tones and no memory. Even the newer cell phones have less features and simply make and receive phone calls. You see there are many reasons why a person might need a phone other than wanting to make and receiving phone calls.
Should you buy your child a phone? Then you need to consider how old they are. If they’re younger than 13 then a simple cell phone is all they may need. But if they’re older than that then a phone with more features is advisable. Even if you don’t buy them a cell phone you should buy them a cell phone that has a good battery life.
Another thing that you need to consider is how often your child uses the phone. If they only text or call when they want to then you should probably not buy them a cell phone. The reason is because teenagers get into all kinds of trouble just for having cell phone conversations. Should you buy your child a phone, then you should also allow them to have an address book. This way you will know where they are all the time and it will help you to keep track of them.
So what do you do if you can’t buy your child a phone and your child is struggling in school? One option is for you to use their phone for school and to make and receive all their phone calls. This is a good option because you will only be billed for minutes used and you won’t be paying their cell phone bill. And if they don’t use it then you won’t be charged either. But if they do use it, then you will have to purchase a cell phone bill each month.
Should you buy a phone? Another option is to subscribe to the school’s cell phone service. You will have a monthly phone call policy but this can be less expensive than buying a phone. Most phones will come with unlimited calls to and from school.
Should you buy a phone for your teenager? It really depends on the age of your child. Many teenagers want to talk to everyone they know and that is why they have cell phones. If your child only calls their friends and doesn’t bother you then you shouldn’t buy a phone. If however your teenager is constantly bothering you about the calls they are making and who they are calling then you may want to buy a phone for them. Just make sure they don’t get into trouble and that you monitor all their calls to make sure they aren’t talking to people you don’t know.
